SAFE WORK PROCEDURES

We have compiled a manual for our own safe work procedures, based on the CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (OHSR) and our many years of experience in the field.

Team safety meetings are carried out at the beginning and conclusion of every job. Topics include scope of work, potential hazards and hazard mitigation, PPE selection and switching, lockout and grounding procedures.

It is our policy to ensure that all energy sources are locked out before entering any electrical or mechanical equipment, and we always apply personal protective grounding when working on high voltage systems.

Whether we are working on high voltage or low voltage power systems, we have implemented a non-negotiable "test before touch" policy to ensure that the hazard of electrical shock is mitigated as much as possible.

FIRST AID & FIRE SAFETY

We have at least one certified Occupational First Aid Attendant (OFAA) at every job site, equipped with the appropriate first aid kit and AED.Our service vehicles are equipped with fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are carried in our vehicles for all degreasers, thread locking fluids, spray paints, lubricants and sealants that our technicians utilize.

Dangerous goods are stored in non-flammable containers and tagged appropriately according to Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines.
